The main reason that I have copied this S&H periodical from 1932 is shown just below:
The telephone construction technique show anno 1932; albeit, that this concept had just been engendered
Especially noteworthy are the small metal can-module-techniques.
From literature we know that in the 1950s this technique reached its technical limits and were replaced by more efficient techniques.
Entzerrer means: response compensation device; likely meant is the 'signal level versus frequency' response
But we have recently encountered equal techniques in our (mid-war) Carrier telephony Survey. It is quite clear, that the kind of modular concept of 1932 was still being operated by Siemens in their Tfb2 apparatus; as it was in the Tfb3 - Tfb5 series of, say, 1944.
All these individual cans contain a particular circuitry; some of which though are identical. For the reason that their functions are identical. Like voltage dividers and accompanied capacitors
And in particular in respect to:
Module C1740 is encountered several times in the Tfb2 carrier telephony stations
Like is, for example, device W 1381
The Tfb2 schematic provides an idea what small modular component-modules are about
